Getting to Hope Town

Bringing Pets to Bahamas
If you are looking to bring your pet to the Bahamas, in addition to a health certificate, you are going to need to obtain a permit. The permit costs $10, and the application form can be downloaded from the Islands of the Bahamas website.

Step 1: Getting to Marsh Harbour - Air or Sea?
The first step in getting to Elbow Cay is to decide whether you will be coming by plane or ship. If you will be coming by commercial airline, you will have to fly into the Marsh Harbour International Airport (MHH). In order to get to Marsh Harbour, you will have to fly from, or through, Florida or Nassau. If you will be arriving on a commercial vessel, you will arrive at Sandy Point (South Abaco) or Marsh Harbour. There are currently two ways of arriving by ship, and they both depart from Nassau.
Step 2: Getting to Elbow Cay - Ferry or Boat?
From the airport, you will need to take a cab to the Ferry Dock or your Boat Rental location. Taxi fares for this trip will cost approximately $12 - $15 for two people, and $3 -$5 for each extra person.
