Groceries are shipped in once per week to the mainland, and at times, great local produce is available. There are two grocery stores, as well as a small fish and produce market right in town. There is also a convenient store and another grocery store as you make your way to the south end of the island. Generally, the stores are well stocked, but during the busy seasons, they tend to run out of the basics (milk, bread, and eggs).

There are three liquor stores on the island stocked with an assortment of beer, wines and spirits. Although beer and wine are generally pricier than in the U.S., the spirits are definitely a great deal. Two of the stores are located right in Hope Town. Hope Town Wine & Spirits is located across the harbour (accessible only by boat) at Lighthouse Marina, and Lighthouse Liquors is in the center of town. The last liquor store, A & E Liquors, is located closer to the White Sound Area.
